Birmingham Airport offers so many international flight paths, meaning the possibility of an extraordinary getaway is bigger than ever. There is a destination for every type of holidaymaker that is just a short flight away! Here is where you can expect to jet off to when flying from Birmingham:

    Santorini, Greece

Santorini is a classic Greek island paradise and one of the most romantic destinations in the world. Its blue-domed buildings, perched atop volcanic cliffs, are a feast for the eyes. Wander through the charming villages of Oia and Fira, explore ancient ruins like Akrotiri and watch the legendary sunsets.

Must visit: Santorini is famous for its one-of-a-kind half-sunk caldera and the best way to see it is by climbing the nearby Santorini Volcano.

    Venice, Italy

Built on a network of canals, Venice is one of the most unique locations on earth. Glide along the waterways in a gondola, explore the Doge’s Palace and St. Mark’s Square and get lost in the labyrinthine streets.

Must visit: Italy holidays aren’t complete with sampling the famous food so don’t miss out on eating the Venetians’ staple meal, sarde in saor (fried sardines marinated in herbs and vinegar).

    Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona is the city where modernist art meets ancient history. It’s home to Antoni Gaudí’s masterpieces like the jaw-dropping Sagrada Família and the colourful Park Güell so if you’re a fan of architecture, you’re in for a treat.

Stroll down the city’s famous boulevard, La Rambla and take in the tapas bars, boutique shops and street performers. Art lovers shouldn’t miss the exhibition of famous works at the Picasso Museum.

Must visit: One of Barcelona’s not-to-miss attractions is La Boqueria Market. It’s the biggest food market in Catalonia with more than 300 stalls and a history dating back to the 1200s.

    Reykjavik, Iceland

For ethereal landscapes and natural phenomena, head to Iceland’s capital, Reykjavik. From Birmingham airport, you can be under the glow of the Northern Lights in just a few hours. From geysers and glaciers to geothermal lagoons and volcanic craters, otherworldly beauty is around every corner.

Must visit: The nearby Blue Lagoon is a geothermal spa that is the perfect spot to unwind. Float atop these toasty waters wearing a rejuvenating face mask.

    Dubrovnik, Croatia

Framed by the blue waters of the Adriatic Sea, Dubrovnik is a medieval masterpiece that will take you back to a different era. The city’s ancient walls, well-preserved fortresses and gorgeous Old Town make it a getaway destination for history buffs.

Must visit: For the most gorgeous views of the city, take a cable car to Mount Srđ and enjoy an unforgettable perspective of the Old Town.
